HOW TO GET TO PRAGUE?

ACCOMMODATION

We do not have pre-booked rooms for this conference, therefore you have to make reservations on your own. Prague has a good number of nice and affordable hostels and hotels, including many within the old town.

CURRENCY

The official currency of the Czech Republic is the Czech crown = Česká koruna (CZK = Kč). International credit cards are accepted in most shops, restaurants, and hotels. Currency exchange offices and ATMs are readily available throughout the city and at Prague International Airport. Cash payment in EUR is also possible in some restaurants and shops, please ask for details on-site. Official exchange rates can be found on the website of the Czech National Bank.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN PRAGUE

Travel on Prague’s public transport is possible only with a valid ticket. Passengers must obtain their tickets before boarding the vehicle or entering the metro system. The ticket is valid only if it is marked in the validation device. We also recommend downloading the phone app PID Lítačka. This app allows you to purchase tickets in advance and activate them gradually before boarding a vehicle.

SHOPS

Shops in Prague are generally open from Monday to Saturday, and many are open on Sundays. Supermarkets often open at 7 a.m., and close no later than 8 p.m., sometimes as early as 7 p.m. Regular shops in the city center open at 9 a.m., and close no later than 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday.

TIPPING IN RESTAURANTS

Service is usually included in the bill in restaurants and bars, but tipping is customary. If you are satisfied with the service, we recommend you leave around 10%.
